Community Choice, Inc. was started in 1998 by the founding partner, Scott Shepherd, MBA, under the name Brookside Health Staffing. The focus was providing Direct Care Staff to Providers of services to individuals with developmental disabilities in the Kansas City, MO area. In 2007, following growth, merger with another large diversified staffing company, and expansion into St. Louis, he partnered with Scott Ling, Psy.D., repurchasing it from the parent company, and reorganizing it as Community Choice, Inc. Today we have offices in Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, and Marshall, MO, providing recruitment and staffing services to numerous clients in those 3 regions of MO and Kansas.
Philosophy Statement
The primary focus of our business is to supply temporary staffing, payroll, and human resource services to agencies that provide residential supports and behavioral services to individuals living in the community. We believe that people of all ages who have disabilities and/or behavioral challenges should be able to live independently as possible and to have opportunities for full inclusion in the community. Our promise is that all Community Choice employees are properly screened and trained to assure that individuals we are assigned to work with are treated with respect and kept safe from any harm or danger.
Mission Statement

We commit ourselves to know, understand, and respond to our clients’ needs by becoming advocates for their causes at the state and local levels.
